Proof of Change Project

 What started with one person taking action grew into a bigger vision. Picking up litter, protecting our water, caring for our environment, helping people, educating others, and finding practical ways to strengthen our communities showed us something important: small actions really do create change. Proof of Change Project was created to bring those actions together. We believe everyone has something to contribute, whether it is their time, knowledge, talents, resources, voice, or simply an act of kindness. We began locally in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, but our vision reaches much further. We want to build a movement where people of different ages, backgrounds, experiences, and abilities work together instead of allowing our differences to divide us. We aren't waiting for someone else to change the world. We are starting where we are, using what we have, and becoming the proof that change is possible. 

Proof of Change Project exists to create visible, measurable change in our communities and our environment through action.
Our mission is to clean and restore shared spaces, protect and conserve water, promote environmental responsibility, educate and involve youth, connect people with support and resources, develop programs that address community needs, and create opportunities for people to serve together.
We bring individuals, families, volunteers, businesses, and community partners together around one principle:
Everyone can contribute something. Every positive action matters.
By turning concern into participation and ideas into action, we work toward healthier communities, a healthier planet, and a future built on unity, service, compassion, and responsibility.

Proof of Change Project aims to grow from a local movement in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, into a global network of people and communities working together to create positive change.

We see communities where people are connected rather than divided, young people grow up understanding the value of service and responsibility, natural resources are protected, people facing challenges have meaningful pathways toward support and opportunity, and no one believes they are too small to make a difference.

Our vision is not for one person or one organization to change the world. It is for millions of people to recognize the power of what we can accomplish together.

Proof of Change Project is built on a simple idea: you don't have to be wealthy, powerful, or perfect to make a difference. You just have to be willing to take action.

We don't focus on only one problem because our communities and our planet are connected. Environmental responsibility, stronger neighborhoods, education, youth, human needs, kindness, and service all affect one another.

We believe everyone has something to contribute. One person may give their time. Another may share knowledge, resources, a talent, an idea, or simply help someone who needs it.

We also believe change should be visible. We don't want to simply talk about problems or promise solutions. We want our actions, our projects, and the communities we serve to become the proof.

Proof of Change Project was founded by Gayle Skinlo with one central belief: meaningful change begins when someone is willing to take the first step.

Rather than waiting for someone else to solve the problems she saw around her, Gayle began taking action herself. What started with hands-on efforts in her own community grew into a much larger vision, bringing people together to care for our communities, protect our planet, support one another, and create opportunities for future generations.

Gayle believes leadership isn't about standing above others. It's about standing beside them, learning from one another, and being willing to do the work yourself. Proof of Change Project was built around that philosophy.

Her goal isn't to be the face of change. It's to help build something where every person can recognize their own ability to create it.
